Skid Steer New Holland LX485 project
This is a New Holland LX 485 skid that I started rebuilding. I took it right down to the chassis and cleaned all the mud and grease from inside. I replaced a number of the rubber and steel lines in the chassis going to the pump and main valve. It originally had a 3 cylinder Shibaura diesel in it but that's long gone The guy I bought it off had a 4 cylinder Kubota diesel that he was going to put into it that I mated to the hydrastatic drive. It's in there all bolted down but not wired. Because it's a different engine the exhaust manifold /muffler will have to be reworked to clear the Hydraulic tank.

That and a little cutting on the radiator shroud makes it fit. It has new 10X16 tires and rims and a spare wheel. The radiator is in fair shape. I figured I'd put it in and try it before I bought a new one. I have all new filters and five gallons of hydraulic oil.

The boom is on and locked in the service position. The hydraulic lines don't look bad so I figured I use them before starting to replace them. I'm at the point where I'm starting the wiring. The service panel along with a bunch of wiring was in bad shape so I decided to make my own (they wanted a bundle for a new one). I have five gauges, fuel, oil pressure, amps, transmission oil temp and water temp.

I was going to do a straight forward job, fuse each circuit and also the starter and alternator. I'm going to install a switch for the safety lock out and service positions. There is no universal adapter with the machine but I do have a bucket. As I mentioned the engine is in place. The throttle cable needs to be installed it's there, just needs to be coupled. I have cranked the engine but have not tried to start it because I don't want to run the hydraulic pump dry. I have paint (yellow and gray) and all the decals for it. I have decided to sell it as is because I recently picked up a Gehl skid steer with a backhoe attachment with it. I really like the machine.

It runs well and operates easy with hand controls. Fell free to ask for info or more pictures. The item "Skid Steer New Holland LX485 project" is in sale since Friday, January 4, 2019.
